Odds Are

There are a lot of people that my whole life, I’ve admired

They’ve done great things, they’ve been great people and prematurely, they’ve expired

With them still here, the greatness would grow

They could have cured cancer, inspired a generation, made someone’s day,

touched Mars, touched hearts, been an example for those who are lost, or been

a mother or a father or a lover for a lifetime

But they aren’t here now so we’ll never know

With every bullet, crash, jump or cough

The balance of people who should still be is thrown off

If everyone was here for as long as they should

We’d all be somewhere else, I think it’d be goodAarhus (66)
